Colne Valley, Pennine Yorkshire
Golcar clings to the north side of the Colne Valley and was an important centre for cottage textiles in the 19th century. The village contains many former weavers' cottages, which have characteristic rows of mullioned windows. A row of 4 cottages houses the Colne Valley Museum, which brings to life the valley's cottage-textiles heritage.
